Hola noor,
Puedes ver mas sobre este camino aqui:
http://camino.xacobeo.es/es/caminos/camino-de-fisterra-muxia
Para poder recibir la fisterrana necesitas pasar por la oficina de peregrinos en Santiago y coger un credencial normal. Vas recogiendo cuñas hacia Fisterra, y cuando llegas a Fisterra te dan la fisterrana.

Buen Camino!

Dear Ivar,
You were so kind to answer me earlier on in another group forum.
Kindly allow me to put some other questions before you. My Spanish is very bad; so please forgive me writing in English and please forgive me if my questions make a stupid impression :-(
This is really the first time that I am going to walk the Camino, together with a friend of mine. We both (61 of age) have never ever really made long walks, but we have been training very hard in the past months and we are confident it will be fine.
Since this IS the first time and we want to walk as much as possible in nature, we have chosen to walk a section of the Northern Way (about 32 km) to experience that part.
Then we fly from Bilbao to Santiago. In Santiago, we want to walk the Fisterra Way.
If this all works out fine, we definitely will come back in April 2011 and we will then walk an entire way (probably the Portuguese Way).
This upcoming November walk is our try-out.
We do have our 'credentials paper' for collecting the stamps. I wonder though, whether it makes sense to collect stamps? do they remain valid for next year when we add more kms? I have read somewhere that the 'fisterrana' is only given if one can show a completed 'credential certificate'. Is that true?
As a matter of fact, my friend and I will be walking to find out if we indeed are able to do it and to feel the freedom, the inner peace and to enjoy the nature and the magic of the camino. Nevertheless, it would be good to know what is 'done' and not 'done' with respect to collecting stamps. We are completely new in this and feel quite stupid.........
Thanks an awful lot for your answer!
I do like your site very, very much and it gives fantastic and useful information.
Best,
Stella
Hi Stella,
Good to hear from you again!
Regarding your questions:
We do have our 'credentials paper' for collecting the stamps. I wonder though, whether it makes sense to collect stamps?
-- Why not? ... the stamps are colorful and makes for a great souvenir. When you look at these stamps one year from now you will remember each one (where it was, and so on..).. it will bring back memories.
do they remain valid for next year when we add more kms?
-- Not really, to get the "fisterrana" you need to have walked Santiago - Finisterre in "one go". (You can not do it over two years...). If you have stamps from other places before you start collecting stamps in Santiago, I don't really think they care...
I have read somewhere that the 'fisterrana' is only given if one can show a completed 'credential certificate'. Is that true?
-- Yes, you need a complete set of stamps (two per day) from Santiago to Finisterre.
-- Exactly, this is not a race to collect stamps.. but if you get a nice "diploma" at the end, why not?
I hope I have answered some of your questions.. :-)
Saludos,
Ivar
Again thanks a lot Ivar!
My friend and I will do Santiago-Fisterra in one go...so, who knows we will get our 'fisterrana diploma:-)
I thought that the fisterrana diploma was only given if one had completed the last 100 kms to Santiago PLUS the one go Santiago - Fisterra.
Anyway, it is not that important, but as you say, it looks indeed quite nice to have those stamps.
I am more and more looking forward to our walk mid November.
All the best, cheers!
Stella
Great!!
I thought that the fisterrana diploma was only given if one had completed the last 100 kms to Santiago PLUS the one go Santiago - Fisterra.
-- No, it is separate... you can start in Santiago and get the fisterrana once you get to Finisterre.
You can actually see Ester (a spanish pilgrim) getting her fisterrana in this video:

This video is part of a TV series on the camino that was broadcasted in Spain this summer. You can see the first 7 episodes online here (in spanish):

...we publish a new clip each day, there is a tootal of 13 episodes.
Buen Camino!

Hola:
Buen Camino!
Ivar
Hi Stella.
May I add a good reason for collecting stamps? If you do, you get the right to stay at Pilgrims' refuges, if you do not prove you wlking, you can't. It is no big deal if there's no one at the "Albergue de peregrinos" otherwise it is very nice. Pilgrims help each other, talk abour the day and about other trails. They explain you how to get through with blisters and more. You make friends at Pilgrims' "ALBERGUE". I wish you all the best.
