The Parish of Padrón, a town closely linked to the Xacobean tradition, both to the preaching of the Apostle (in the nearby mountain of Santiaguiño) and to the Translatio of his body after his martyrdom in Jerusalem.

According to the tradition the Apostle's remains were brought by his disciples Athanasius and Theodore, who were led by a star to the port of Padrón, where they moored their stone boat to the "boulder" that gives its name to the village and that is now located inside the Church of Santiago, on the main altar.
